United Airlines Global First Lounge and United Club at Terminal 2 Heathrow
United Airlines were the first carrier to operate out of Terminal 2 when it opened in June 2014. United wanted to reinforce their new design concept previously launched at Chicago O’Hare airport which aims to signpost passengers with distinct design elements which reflect the lounge’s location. 3DReid worked closely with Chicago-based practice Solomon Cordwell Buenz on designs for the interiors of the United Global First Lounge aimed at first and business class passengers.
De Montfort University Leicester
The £42 million redevelopment, to BREEAM “Excellent” standards, of the former Fletcher complex (now the Vijay Patel Building) on De Montfort University’s Leicester campus features a variety of Armstrong’s mineral and metal systems to help achieve acoustic compliance for both the new-build and refurbishment elements.

Booths supermarket chain chose Armstrong’s metal and mineral ceilings for their flagship store in Lytham St Anne’s, Lancashire. Built traditionally, the store features oak cladding to the internal steel frame and includes a café, butcher’s and cheese counters.

Milliken designers explore new depths with Arctic survey
Milliken’s latest carpet plank collection ‘Arctic Survey’ takes as its inspiration the movement, structure and evolving forms of ice in the Arctic. Milliken’s in-house design team studied the organic patterns found in giant ice structures. They discovered how a combination of high and low-relief combine with translucent and opaque colours to stunning effect. They looked to Ernest Shackleton’s well documented journey to the Antarctic in 1901 to reference giant ice structures as they were discovered by explorers.
