Sweeping Elegance - A Helical Staircase by Bisca
The clients brief was to design, manufacture and install a feature staircase with ‘wow factor’ from a ground floor living kitchen, down into a multi-sensorial chill out entertainment room in the basement.
Dramatic Zig Zag Staircase Linking Old & New
Bisca designed this atrium stair for a contemporary extension to a late Edwardian town house in central Oxford. The architect had designed a glass atrium linking the old and new parts of the property. It was essential that the staircase, situated within the atrium, worked aesthetically with both.
Junckers Solid Wood Flooring for World’s First Carnegie Library
The Carnegie Library & Galleries in Dunfermline designed by Richard Murphy Architectsfeatures over 700 sq m of Junckers solid oak flooring. The original library building and anadjacent former bank, both grade B listed, have been extended and integrated to form aspectacular, award-winning space. A new museum, gallery space, café, shop and readingrooms are linked to the original library building by an ‘internal street’ connecting new andexisting spaces.
Integrated kitchen storage / staircase design
In an open plan living area, making use of every opportunity to create more storage is paramount. By giving the cavernous cupboard under the stairs a long overdue make over, bespoke staircase specialists Bisca created an extended run of cupboards, seamlessly linking under-stairs storage with the kitchen.
