Ice Lab: Architecture and Science
23 July 2013Combatting the heatwave currently wilting the rest of the country, The Lighthouse in Glasgow is taking a distinctly chilly turn this week, as it opens the exhibition ‘Ice Lab: New Architecture and Science in Antarctica’, commissioned by the British Council. This internationally touring exhibition is intended to provide visitors an insight into how innovative contemporary architecture is facilitating new research in one of the world’s most harsh and hostile environments – Antarctica.

The Mobile Orchard by Atmos

The Mobile Orchard is an installation by atmos that has been touring in July’s City of London Festival, here snapped from Devonshire Square and beside 30 St Mary Axe. Next month, the Mobile Orchard goes nationwide with Trees for Cities, a charity dedicated to planting urban trees – check out their itinerary when it emerges.
