    Kährs has been voted ‘Best Solid/Engineered Wood Manufacturer’ by readers of Interiors Monthly – a UK business magazine for the residential interiors market. The high profile award follows the CFJ/CFA ‘Hardwood Flooring Product of the Year’ Award, which Kährs received earlier this year.

    A NEW ZENITH!

    A highly innovative solution, Style has installed their unique Skyfold Zenith automatic partitioning wall in prestigious refurbished offices on the 31st floor of the iconic Walkie Talkie building. As with all Skyfold partitions, the Zenith descends from within the ceiling cavity at the touch of a button, but rather than unfolding as concertinaed panels, it slides automatically into place as almost entirely flat vertical panels. This allows the space to be quickly divided with the minimum of disruption or reorganisation of furniture. Offering phenomenal 54dB acoustics, the Zenith partition combines here with a DORMA Moveo ‘magic glass’ wall to create different sized spaces to meet requirements.

    Bona ensures slip resistance in busy food service area

    A combination of a primer and non-slip, waterborne lacquer from Bona has been used to renovate the oak plank floor in a busy food service area at the Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa, Leeds. The Bona technical team wrote the specification to meet the performance criteria required by the hotel and the treatment was carried out by John Garner, a Bona certified contractor. The Bona finishes used were supplied by Taylored Flooring of Cheadle, Cheshire.

    Stokvis Modupak Heats Rail Depot Inspection Pits

    The Network Rail Tyseley depot in Birmingham has fulfilled a crucial maintenance role as part of the UK’s railway network for many years, with facilities for the overhaul and repair of locomotives. And just as the trains it services have changed radically down the decades, the depot’s own plant and equipment have required updating, with an advanced Modupak R40 Series Boiler arrangement from Stokvis Energy Systems now having been installed in place of the redundant Boilers.

    Triton has extended its range of liquid applied waterproofing products to offer a wider choice of systems primarily for the reliable waterproofing of roofs and podium decks. Each of the three new systems provides Type A barrier protection waterproofing as defined in BS 8102 (2009). They are quick and easy to apply, very fast curing and suitable for application in cooler temperatures – therefore extending the season for application and reducing the downtime of areas treated.
