Top 10 Best Designed Spas in the World
The Scarlet Spa at The Scarlet

Newquay, Cornwall, England
Featured by FX Magazine when it opened its doors in 2010, The Scarlet was – and still is – a hotel designed for more than just its aesthetic. With sweeping, organic curves, the crescent building fits perfectly into the coastal splendour of Mawgan Porth; local architect Harrison Sutton Partnership designed the building, whilst the interiors were created by Max Betheim. What’s more is that The Scarlet prides itself in its ecological features, including solar panels, rain water harvesting and a biomass boiler.

The spa takes serenity very seriously, with the first rule at The Scarlet being: adults only – hopefully, this should make for a refined, peaceful stay. For maximum relaxation, treatments at The Scarlet ask for up to four hours to be allowed. Other facilities include outdoor log fire heated hot tubs, cocoon-like pods that hang from the ceiling, and an outdoor swimming pool carved into the rocks. The Scarlet’s interiors effortlessly combine relaxation and luxury; it has never been so easy to go back to nature.
