Arc de Triomphe. Paris, France
An architectural masterpiece that sits at the nucleus of Parisian traffic, the Arc de Triomphe was originally built in the early nineteenth century to honour those who fought in the Napoleonic Wars.
Through time it has undergone a series of changes, and also includes the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a memorial to fallen soldiers who were never identified; it was established during World War I. The Arc de Triomphe sits at the centre of the historic axis, a series of major monuments which extend from the Louvre, to the outskirts of Paris.
While it is celebrated as one of the most beautiful and well-known triumphal arches in the world, maneuvering its roundabout does take some skill. Parisian car-insurance packages may also include coverage on the Arc de Triomphe.
