• Per Nimer to front colour trend seminar from surface design show

    A free seminar on global colour trends will be led by Per Nimer (pictured left), the design manager at giant paints and coatings company Akzo Nobel. Hosted by Interface, the event will be part of series of design-led seminars organised by the Surface Design Show. This one takes place at the Interface showroom in Clerkenwell on 15 May, from 6pm.

  • RPW design gives sixties’ Hilton Rotterdam Hotel a new lease of life

    Hospitality interior design practice RPW Design has completed renovation work for the Hilton Rotterdam hotel in the Netherlands. The project was the hotel’s first major upgrade since it was built in 1963 by Dutch post-war modernism architect Hugh Maaskant.

  • Priestmangoode designs new cabin interiors

    Priestmangoode has designed new cabin interiors for Thai Airways International’s new B777 planes, showcasing the carrier’s new ‘Royal Silk Class’ seat, as well as redesigning the airline’s economy cabins. The plane’s upper class interior focuses on materials in tones of purple with wood accents and ambient lighting that aim to create a ‘comfortable passenger environment.’

  • Marc Mimram puts a twist on design for new architecture school

    Marc Mimram has completed the first phase of the Strasbourg School of Architecture (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Strasbourg). Located in the centre of the city, La Fabrique (The Factory), pictured above, is a new 4,500 sq m building to be accompanied by the refurbishment of the adjoining building, Le Garage, due to be completed in December.
