Yachting Developments to launch 30.4m Q5 super-yacht soon

New Zealand-based yacht builder Yachting Developments is due to launch a 30.4-metre super-yacht christened Q5 in early June 2012.

The exterior design and naval architecture of the vessel has been done by Auckland-based Warwick Yacht Design whereas its interior has been styled by Redman Whiteley Dixon. The interior of the yacht will be adorned with contemporary as well as traditional furnishings donning light shades.

Q5 will house an owner’s cabin on its main level which will allow direct access to the foredeck and spa pool area. The lower deck of the super-yacht will feature two double cabins and one twin cabin, and a children’s den comprising two storable berths. There will be accommodation for its crew members on its lower deck. The Captain's cabin and guest cabins will be situated further aft on the lower deck. Among other features of the yacht include the main saloon and bar areas on the main deck, and an enclosed all-weather pilothouse on the upper level.

The yacht will be constructed in high strength light weight post-cured epoxy Eglass/Carbon fibre with foam sandwich technology. It will comply by GL class survey specifications. The vessel will be powered by a pair of C7 Caterpillar engines which is expected to offer it a cruising speed ranging between 12-14 knots.
