Work underway for new apartment scheme in Darlington

Work is underway for a new apartment scheme in Darlington, UK which is being constructed by demolishing an old hostel named, Tom Rain Lifehouse.

The scheme has been designed to refresh and revive the area and to replace the disused, out-dated building at Coburg Street in Darlington. It is being built for the Salvation Army Housing Association.

The new development will consist of 26 attractive apartments, out of which 22 of the apartments will be for single occupancy and four for double occupancy. Some of these apartments will have private gardens or balconies, affording views over the town or towards the river. Each will have kitchen, bathroom, dining-living room and bedroom.

Work has already begun on laying the foundations which will be completed towards the end of July 2013. All homes are being constructed to Code for Sustainable Homes level 3.

Esh Property Services is the contractor for the project.
