Willmott Dixon to redesign interiors of London School of Economics


Willmott Dixon, a UK-based regeneration specialist, has secured a contract from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to redesign the interior spaces of its 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields building.


The contract is valued at £10.6 million ($16.82 million). Scope of work involves fit-out of the LSE's new eight storey, Grade two listed building, which has a total area of 11,500 square metres. The design of the 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields building will be in sync with the architecture of the existing campus.

Scope of work involves involves stripping out of chimney stacks, partitions and M&E services. The project will develop a new learning environment featuring all modern academic facilities. The company will also build two Harvard style lecture theaters by redefining the space of the building.

Work on the project is scheduled to begin in March 2012 and is penciled for completion in November 2012. Willmott Dixon's team for the project consists of architect Jestico and Whiles, structural engineer Ellis & Moore, and Hoare Lea for the M&E.
