Whole Foods opens first store in Hampton Roads


Natural foods supermarket chain Whole Foods Market has opened its first store in Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, US.


The 40,000 square feet store features a section which stocks a variety of fresh single ingredients, such as barley, wheat and farro as well as a section from where customers can buy tablespoon or cup. It also includes a large produce section selling natural, unprocessed organic foods, fresh seafood six days a week, and a beef counter that submits to an animal welfare ratings system.

In addition to that, the new store includes a section which offers 800 selections of wine and 500 varieties of beer, including several craft beers available on tap. It also features a large artisan cheese section and a fresh bakery that includes some gluten-free choices along with a prepared foods area, which offers choices from freshly made soups and salads to sushi, grass-fed beef burgers and pizza.

For the entertainment of the customers , the store offers an attached pub, featuring local coffee brews, craft beers and wines, which can be purchased by the glass or pint.
