West Sale Aerodrome unveils $3.3 million upgrade

West Sale Aerodrome in Victoria, Australia has unveiled a $3.3 million upgrade that modernised its ageing infrastructure.

Upgrades under the two-year construction period included the reconstruction, reconfiguration and renovation of taxiways; the redevelopment and extension of aprons; the rehabilitation of the aerodrome’s Precision Approach Path Indicator to clearly light the way for safe take-off and landings; the refurbishment of the Bellman Hangar; and fuel infrastructure works.

The upgrade is expected to drive economic development and improve the region’s aviation cluster, and business and employment opportunities. In addition, many aircraft service businesses operating from the aerodrome site will benefit from the upgraded facilities.

The Victorian Coalition Government contributed $3 million towards the upgrade, while the Wellington Shire Council contributed $333,400.
