Waterloo Station retail balcony is a step up

A new retail balcony designed by SAS International for Waterloo Station has helped reduce passenger congestion and increase retail income.

The new aspect to one of London's busiest stations has curved aluminium soffit cladding under a new mezzanine level and escalators, designed and supplied by SAS International. As well as providing 10 new retails outlets the 220m-long new balcony also helps to reduce congestion among the 300,000 daily passengers and improve access to and from Waterloo East.

SAS International has worked on three separate phases of Waterloo Station's refurbishment alongside a range of designers and project teams.

For this particular project it worked with Weedon Architects and BAM Construction.
