War Memorial Hospital to open doors soon
The new $30 million War Memorial Hospital on Fairview Drive, West Virginia, US is set to open doors soon.
Construction on the hospital commenced in June 2010. The new facility, covering an area of 87,000 square feet over two floors, will be double the size of the old hospital. It will be a 25-bed critical-access hospital with an extended-care nursing home having a bed capacity of 16.
The first floor of the building will house emergency room, surgery department, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, dining room, as well as nursing home. Its second storey will sport in-patient rooms, rehabilitation services, hospital administrative offices and physicians’ offices. There will also be a helipad at the building rear.
The new hospital will incorporate a bright and airy look with the patient rooms designed to ensure more privacy. It will also be equipped with new technology such as new medical imaging/radiology equipment, and mammography machine.
