Walmart opens new green store in Milwaukee
Walmart has opened a new store at 401 E. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US.
The store sports an upgraded layout with features such as wider aisles, lower shelving throughout, as well as directional signage on every aisle. The products most frequently purchased by the customers have been grouped together to facilitate the shopping experience.
The facility also imbibes a host of green features. It has been equipped with LED lighting fixtures throughout which are 70% more efficient compared to conventional fluorescent lighting. Portion of the cement used in the concrete flooring adorning the building comprises reclaimed materials whereas the floor’s finish decreases requirement for chemical cleaners.
The facility also employs measures to minimise waste. Installation of low-flow toilets and faucets in the store's restrooms add to the sustainability by cutting down water usage.
