Walmart opens new green store in Chantilly
Walmart has opened a new store in Chantilly, Virginia, US.
The new facility features lower shelving, and directional signage on every aisle and has aligned its most-frequently visited departments. The interior of the facility dons a bright colour scheme.
The property incorporates a host of green features. It has been equipped with LED lighting fixtures which run low on energy consumption. These lighting systems are 70% more efficient compared to conventional fluorescent lighting fixtures. The building also comprises low-flow toilets and faucets which adds to the sustainability by cutting down water usage. In addition, the facility implements a recycling programme which involves organic composting and promotes purchase of green products.
