Vons to open new Hillcrest/Mission Hills store on 29 March 2012
Vons is set to open its new Hillcrest/Mission Hills store at 515 West Washington Street in the US on 29 March 2012.
The project broke ground on 15 June 2011. The location formerly housed a 12,000 square feet store since 1960 which was owned and operated by the parent company of Vons, Safeway. The new store will span over an area of about 58,000 square feet. It will comprise more spacious full-service floral, deli, bakery, meat and seafood units. The facility will also sport an expanded produce section known as Farmer’s Market comprising organic selections, as well as expanded beer, wine and liquor areas.
The new property will incorporate a Starbucks with interior seating facilities and Wi-Fi service. There will also be a pharmacy comprising an enclosed waiting space. Among other features of the facility include expanded check-stand areas, self-checkout stations, a new outside seating space, and garage parking with ample access points, elevators, escalators and cart movers.
