Virgin Australia opens its first lounge at Gold Coast airport
Virgin Australia has opened its first lounge at Gold Coast airport in Australia.
The lounge, designed by architect Tim Greer from Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, is situated at the southern end of the airport's domestic terminal. It spans over 680 square metres and replicates the design of the renovated Melbourne and Brisbane Lounges. The new lounge, with a capacity to accommodate up to 135 guests, has been built to serve both leisure and corporate guests.
The Gold Coast Lounge lounge sports an entrance level reception space with a mezzanine level which offers views of the tarmac and Gold Coast hinterland. Its interior dons a contemporary design and consists of separate areas to relax, refuel and work.
The new lounge has been equipped with luxurious lounge seating facilities and amenities for entertainment such as a Panasonic HDTV. It also features a private meeting room with a capacity to house a maximum of eight guests. It has been fitted with PC and printer, and offers Wi-Fi access to facilitate business activities. In addition, the lounge comprises a Luke Mangan designed buffet.
