Vinci tops out new facility at Royal Oldham Hospital
VINCI Construction UK has attained a construction milestone with the topping out ceremony of the new £32.8 million ($50.9 million) women and children’s facility at The Royal Oldham Hospital in Oldham, UK
The new women and children facility is a five star building, the design of which is punctuated by a roof-top garden. The facilities at the new building will consist of a pediatric theatre, two obstetric theatres, delivery suites, post natal wards, gynecological outpatients centre, an endoscopy unit, pediatric day and case wards, A&E observation unit, surgical triage and a 30-bed assessment unit.
The project also involved refurbishment of the existing 2,700 square metre of the first floor wards, which accommodates the ante-natal clinic and day case wards, a gynecological assessment unit, early pregnancy unit with overnight stay and a midwife led unit.
The new building will serve as a modern and cutting-edge healthcare facility, which is being developed by The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
