Veterans Memorial Building reopens after facelift

The Veterans Memorial Building in Danville, California, US has opened after a $8.1 million overhaul.

Bulk of the building's front portion has been preserved post upgrades. It has now been fitted with an elevator which allows access to all its three levels, and comprises a military library with room for 1,500 tomes and a board room.

The building's foyer now comprises a pair of memorabilia rooms with uniforms and mementos. The main room of the facility along Prospect Avenue for weddings and other events now possesses a seat capacity of 265. The room can also be segregated into three rooms to serve smaller events. The main room will be available for events, weddings and parties. The revamped facility also features a separate entryway for seniors off East Prospect Avenue, as well as offices and conference rooms.

In addition, the structure has been built to offer better earthquake protection and abide by ADA specifications following the makeover.
