Veidekke wins $150 million contract for retail development in Norway
Veidekke Entreprenør AS has secured a contract from Centrumgården AS for the development of new shopping centre at the site of the former speed-skating stadium- Hamar Stadium in Hamar, Norway.
The project has been dubbed as CC Hamar Stadium. Scope of work involves modification of the old stadium to accommodate a parking garage and reception of goods area in the basement of the building, which will be directly connected to a two-storey shopping centre.
The company will also build office space and a park atop the shopping centre. In total, the project involves construction of about 65,000 square metre of new space.
The company has begun the construction on the scheme. The shopping centre is expected to open in late 2014. The contract has been awarded on a turnkey basis. The estimated value of the installation work is NOK900 million ($150.8 million).
