UT’s Hodges Library Commons to undergo major facelift
The Hodges Library Commons in the University of Tennessee (UT) in Knoxville will receive a major upgrade.
The Commons is located on the second floor of the library. The renovations are proposed to be executed in stages to ensure minimum disturbance to the users of the library. The project will entail creation of an improved studio, more group study spaces, more natural light and new mediascape furniture.
The revamped library will also feature better organized services, better grouping of academic consulting and a single checkout point. Further, the Research Assistance Desk will shift to a spot with higher visibility just inside the main entrance as part of the project.
Renovation is slated to begin in late 2012 with completion expected towards the end of the year.
