Trinity Leeds shopping centre in UK wins best commercial development award


The £378 million ($574 million) Trinity Leeds shopping centre at Leeds' city centre in the UK, designed by Chapman Taylor, has won the best commercial development award at the Yorkshire Property Awards.


Spanning one million square feet, the Trinity Leeds shopping centre features approximately 100 shops and 20 restaurants under a glass domed roof designed by SKM Anthony Hunts. It offers 46 brands new to Leeds, such as Apple, Mango, Hollister, Superdry, D&D restaurants, and Everyman Cinema.

To cater to the needs of the modern tech-savvy public, Trinity Leeds shopping centre features advanced digital capability, including interactive LCD screens, LED advertising screens which link to retailer websites and promotions, Google product search, a Trinity Leeds app featuring GPS (Android and Apple) and free WiFi.

Adding to that the centre staff is also equipped with iPads to enable better customer service for shoppers and retailers.

The Yorkshire Property Awards was held at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate on 9 May 2013.
