Tom Dixon launches Etch copper and stainless steel shade pendants
UK-based firm Tom Dixon has come up with the new Etch Shade Stainless Steel and Etch Shade Copper pendants.
The shades incorporate a contemporary and industrial look inspired by the logic of pure mathematics. They sport a geodesic form formed of thin, digitally etched metal sheets. The pattern is first photo etched with acid dissolving the exposed portions. The unexposed metal is used to create the pattern after which the metal is lacquered.
The shades incorporate a detailed pattern which allows interesting interplay of light and shadows when the light is illuminated. The piece measures 27.5cm in height. The design of the shade pendants make them ideal to be used in contemporary spaces. The shade also offers options of a brass version.
