Tokujin Yoshioka creates Luminous table for Glas Italia

Italian glass furniture manufacturer Glas Italia has launched the Luminous transparent table.

The design of the piece has been conceived by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka. The project marks the first collaboration between the designer and the manufacturer. The table has a solid glass structure and sports a transparent look. It comprises a host of glass planes which are integrated into one structure.

The furniture is characterised by its irregular geometric forms. This helps it refract light and alter its look constantly. The legs of the item consist of a sandblasted gradient which leads to the creation of a less transparent stand with a gradual increase in diffusion of light. The bottom of the legs don a clear look.

The table is being showcased at the Salone del Mobile during Milan Design Week 2012.
