The timeline of the iPhone design

iPhone 5 (Sixth Generation)

Launched: September 2012

After producing six handsets, Apple decided it was time to change the iPhone's screen size and aspect ratio by creating a bigger design.

The screen for the iPhone 5 was 20% lighter than the 4S, and implemented a 4-inch screen, running at 640 x 1136 pixels. Overall, despite the typical speed bump and a newly designed stronger antenna, there wasn’t much in the way of change with the design and capabilities.
