Tavistock Group builds new sustainable residential community in Florida
Lake Nona Property Holdings, a subsidiary of US-based private investment company Tavistock Group, in association with US-based GE, is developing a large residential led development scheme, called Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida.
Sprawling over a 7000 acre site near Orlando’s international airport, Lake Nona involves development of world-class education, medical and recreational facilities, a medical city, diverse workspaces, retail centers, entertainment choices and residential units.
The entire scheme has been divided into various smaller schemes, such as Laureate Park (a residential development) and Lake Nona Medical City. Laureate Park is a 2700 home residential community.
The company has collaborated with GE to build Laureate Park into a sustainable living space. The homes will incorporate GE’s Homes Inspired by ecomagination program and Masco Environments For Living Certified Green program, which will make them at least 20% more emission, water and energy efficient.
The homes will feature GE's innovative Nucleus energy manager and the residential EV charging station, the WattStation Wall Mount. All the homes will come with GE's GeoSpring Hybrid Water Heater, which will cutback energy consumption, for heating water, by almost 62%. The homes will also feature GE ENERGY STAR qualified appliances, such as refrigeration, and laundry machines among others.
The streets of the development will be illuminated by GE LED roadway lighting, which will bring about a power saving of about 50%.
