Swedavia opens refurbished Terminal 2 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

Swedavia, a state-owned group that owns and operates 11 airports across Sweden, has opened Terminal 2 after a refurbishment project at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

The new terminal, which is expanded by more than 2,000 square metres to strengthen the airport’s capacity, offers a wide range of options for shopping, food and beverages. It has shops like Capi The Travellers Electronics Company, World of Toys, New Deli with Swedish specialities, and a new duty-free shop.

The new terminal has shortened the distance from the entrance to the gate. Besides a wide range of shopping options, the terminal also features a new lounge on the upper level, a new brasserie named Himmel och Hav, as well as Lavazza, an Italian café and restaurant concept on two levels.

The refurbished terminal will be used by a number of airlines, including British Airways, KLM, Air France and Finnair. Swedavia is planning to open a new baggage sorting facility at Terminal 2 in 2015, as part of a major refurbishment.

First opened in 1990, the Stockholm Arlanda’s Terminal 2, has received a number of modifications till date.
