SUNY school in Brooklyn to construct new academic building

State University of New York (SUNY) School of Public Health in Brooklyn has awarded a $73 million contract to the US-based general contractor Tutor Perini Corporation (TPC) to construct a new academic building in New York.

Designed by the New-York-based Ennead Architects, LLP, the company will build an eight-storied New Academic Building, which will encompass an area of 119,000 square feet. The project also involves renovation of the existing 6,500 square feet space.

The new building will house classrooms, exam rooms, universal patient rooms, debriefing rooms, offices, and laboratories.

The construction of the facility has begun in September 2012 and will span for about two years. The completion is expected by the fourth quarter of 2014.
