Sun Devil Stadium renovation details revealed
Details of the revamp of the Sun Devil Stadium in the Arizona State University (ASU) campus in Arizona, US have been unveiled.
The project will involve demolition of the upper bowl of the stadium which will decrease its capacity from 73,000 to between 55,000-65,000. All the seats of the renovated facility will provide increased leg room and seat backs. The stadium's northern part will now be open to offer views of the Tempe Town Lake.
The stadium will be equipped with a new advanced sound system, video and scoreboards following the makeover. It will also feature a new press box with contemporary facilities, as well as new ADA features. The remodelled stadium will further comprise upgraded concessions, restrooms, concourses, elevators, and escalators.
The overhauled property will install fixed fabric panels. The panels will be suspended over the stadium to offer shade while incorporating an open-plan feel. In addition, the natural grass surface of the stadium will be substituted with FieldTurf.
