Staverton's CL bench receives design award
British office furniture manufacturer Staverton has bagged the Design Prima Product Design award for its new integrated power and technology bench known as Staverton CL.
The furniture piece has been especially designed for the new head office of The Co-operative Group in Manchester, UK. The facility will incorporate a total of 2800 of these benches in July 2012.
The bench has been designed to hide the power and data resources within its core structure. It features a leg-mounted power distribution unit. The unit helps power ten desks from one 32 amp feed. The bench sports a simple plug in design which enhances its flexibility and makes it easier to install.
IT and power installation expenses are decreased during fit-out and throughout the lifespan of the bench owing to management of all power issues above the floor. The piece further comprises an optional sliding work-top, special power and data module let into the desk top. The look is complemented by intricate detailing work. CL bench is also sustainable.
