Starwood opens Sheraton Silver Spring hotel in Maryland


US-based hospitality company Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has opened the Sheraton Silver Spring Hotel in Maryland, which is the refurbished version of the former Crowne Plaza hotel.


Sheraton Silver Spring Hotel had undergone a major renovation, costing more than $5 million to bring it up to Sheraton standards.

The refurbished hotel features 229 guest rooms, accommodating a work desk, an ergonomic chair, high-speed Internet, LCD flat panel television, and a comfortable bed including a brand-new Club floor lounge.

Including a 16,000 square feet of flexible meeting space with the latest meeting technology, the new hotel offers varieties of amenities like a full-service restaurant and lounge, outdoor pool, and fully equipped fitness facility.

By the end of 2012, the hotel will feature a Starbucks coffeehouse, which will also open onto Georgia Avenue and service the nearby business community.
