SolarCity has teamed up with Shea Homes to launch no electric bill homes in all Shea Homes Active Lifestyle and Trilogy communities in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada and Washington in the US.

The homes will offer net-zero electric bills by producing the same amount of energy as consumed by it. A host of green features contribute to this factor, one of which is the installation of solar panels. The solar panels will produce clean, renewable energy to offset electricity usage.

The homes will also be equipped with various other eco-friendly elements such as Trane HVAC systems which run low on energy usage. Incorporation of Jenn-Air Energy Star-certified appliances will further reap energy cost cuts. Installation of efficient insulation and dual-pane, low-e windows will add to the sustainability.

The collaboration will offer SolarCity solar service-enabled homes in Florida and Nevada for the first time.
