Shore Hotel bags LEED Gold
Shore Hotel in Santa Monica, California, US has secured LEED Gold from the US Green Building Council.
The hotel is the only one in the region to achieve the certification and imbibes a host of green features. It includes incorporation of Southern California Edison Auto Demand Response system which allows the facility to automatically reap energy cost cuts during high demand hours. The facility is the first new build hotel to install the system.
Further, 10% of building materials have been sourced locally and have been procured from within 500 miles of the project site. Sustainability factor is enhanced by reclaiming 50% of the hotel's construction debris such as metals, concrete, stucco, terrazzo, wood, and carpet. The hotel boasts a 43% reduction in carbon emissions compared to an average hotel with use of various green features. The facility also implements a Green Clean Programme.
