Sanford Children’s Clinic wins LEED certification
The Sanford Children’s Clinic in Duncan, Oklahoma, US has bagged LEED certification from the US Green Building Council.
The facility has been designed by Architecture Incorporated and incorporates a host of green materials. It includes installation of high-performance lighting systems. The building has also employed various water-saving measures which leads to a reduction of more than 40% in potable water consumption.
The clinic further incorporates efficient ventilation systems. This, coupled with use of several low VOC materials, add to the building's sustainability by improving the quality of its indoor air. Over 20% of the total materials used in the building are reclaimed. In addition, 15% of the materials used in the facility have been procured through regional sources.
