San Francisco airport opens yoga room in upgraded Terminal 2
The San Francisco International Airport in California, US has opened a yoga room in the revamped Terminal 2 of the airport.
The new yoga room has been designed by Gensler and is positioned past the security checkpoint adjacent to the Recompose Area. It helps enhance reflections of the mind with shades of soothing blue while being marked by low as well as warm lighting levels. The design of the room serves as a stark contrast to the bright concourse offering optimum natural light penetration.
The new room also features a floating wall which is reflective of the enlightenment of human soul. The area will also be fitted with large, felt-constructed rocks by early 2012. The rocks will be organised throughout the space replicating the pattern of Japanese Zen gardens.
