Salford City Stadium opens in England


The new £26 million ($40.95 million) Salford City Stadium in the City of Salford, England, UK has been opened.


The facility, serving as a home to Salford City Reds, possesses a capacity of 12,000. It has 1200 square metres of flexible open area which can be segregated into three suites. The external space of the stadium spans 280 square metres and has been designed to serve marquee events and outdoor activities.

The stadium also consists of a conference and banqueting facility. The facility, offering views over the pitch and the Manchester skyline, has a capacity to house a maximum of 1000 guests. Among the various other features of the stadium are a full size floodlit artificial pitch sporting three 7–a-side pitches, a recreational grass pitch and community changing rooms. 

A joint venture between Salford City Council and Peel Holdings owns the stadium.
