Sacred Heart Hospital opens new Heart and Vascular Centre
Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast in Florida, US has opened its Judy and Steve Turner Heart and Vascular Centre.
The centre has been constructed in 6,600 square feet of shell space which was created during construction of the Family Birth Place in 2007 at a cost of $12 million. The new centre is the first in the Florida Panhandle to incorporate an advanced hybrid cath lab. The lab will enable both surgical and interventional procedures to occur sequentially or simultaneously.
The expansion project has also led to the creation of a traditional cath lab. In addition, there has been creation of a post-anesthesia care unit for offering pre-and-post procedure patient care to heart and vascular patients, and other surgical patients. The unit has been equipped with five beds for adult patients, as well as a pair of glass-enclosed rooms dedicated for pediatric patients.
