Residence Inn Arlington wins LEED certification
Residence Inn Arlington Capital View hotel in Virginia, US has secured LEED Gold from the US Green Building Council.
The hotel imbibes a host of green elements. It has been fitted with a green roof which acts as a heat repellent. The facility has incorporated energy-efficient glass. The lighting fixtures installed in the building too, run low on energy usage.
Over 26% of the building is made of post-consumer reclaimed material. Its landscape has been designed to reduce water consumption by 50%. The facility also makes use of low-emitting materials and has provisions for recyclable storage and collection. In addition, the property uses chlorine-free refrigerant to protect ozone, and employs measures for on-site monitoring of carbon dioxide.
