Renovation underway for public realm scheme in Watford
The £4 million ($6.12 million) renovation work has started on site to upgrade the upper section of the Parade civic place in Watford Town Centre, UK which is designed by the architectural practice BDP.
To make the town centre more attractive and engaging to help bring shoppers, families and businesses to the area, the scheme for Watford Borough Council will transform the area into a key civic space.
Designed to provide maximum flexibility, the civic place will accommodate a variety of outdoor events, and attract a wide range of visitors throughout the day and evening.
The scheme will also provide new street furniture and simplify the surface materials and circulation, to create an elegant and comfortable environment for both pedestrians and cyclists. It will also retain and enhance the setting of the pond which has been there for over 100 years.
To make the street brighter and attract people to the area during the evenings, the scheme will upgrade the street lighting throughout the Parade. It will also install additional lighting to the street to make it more attractive.
