Rams Plaza shopping center completes first phase renovations

Rams Plaza shopping center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina has completed the first phase of renovations valued at $1.5 million.

The renovation project was led by Finley Design Architecture + Interiors. This is the first major upgrade since the centre was opened in 1982.

As part of the renovations, the 113,000 square-foot grocery-anchored shopping mall’s façade, cornices, building structures, interior courtyard and parking areas were upgraded.

The second phase of renovation will include construction on a vacant outparcel at the mall. Total renovations cost is expected to reach above $3 million after the completion of second phase.

Rams Plaza Associates revealed plans to renovate the 30-year-old shopping centre in December 2011. The Kalikow Group, through a joint venture partnership with Argus Properties of Charlotte and Carlisle Development Group of Miami, acquired Rams Plaza shopping center for $13.25 million in December 2011.

Argus Development Group of Charlotte and an affiliate of Breakers Capital Partners of Miami were the other partners in the renovation project.
