Radiant Architectural' luminaire receives two Lighting Design awards

Radiant Architectural Lighting Power Cove luminaires used at the Gatwick Airport South Terminal scheme has won two Lighting Design Awards in the public buildings category and the low carbon category.

Radiant Architectural Lighting Power Cove luminaires have been used at the Gatwick Airport South Terminal (Central Search Area) in West Sussex, UK. As part of a way-finding scheme, the columns are lit with a colour wash from the Power Cove system, fitted at the top of the columns.

Four colours have been used on the columns to indicate the fastest route. The blue and green columns are illuminated with coloured LEDs fitted into the Power Cove modules. The yellow and purple columns are lit with white LEDs and colour gels in the Power Cove modules.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) was involved in the selection of the colours to ensure that people with visual impairments would see colours as clearly as possible.

The Lighting Design Awards 2013 was held on 27 March 2013 in London Hilton at Park Lane Hotel in the UK.
