Porsche dealership in San Antonio wins LEED Gold certification

Porsche of San Antonio, the new dealership of luxury Porsche cars in San Antonio, Texas has secured LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building council, making it the first dealership of the brand in the US to be LEED- certified.

Designed by The Zinner Group, the building’s design incorporated several sustainable practices, for which the builder tied up with the Sustainable Perspectives Group. The building has achieved a total of 67 points.

The dealership was evaluated against the parameters of site selection and placement, water and energy efficiency, incorporation of locally manufactured materials, recycled content and waste reduction, enhanced indoor quality performance, and other sustainable practices.

The new centre has a solar photovoltaic system, which generates 20.01kW of green power, which meets the requirement of the dealership, as well as supplies additional power to the CPS energy utility company of San Antonio’s grid.

The Porsche of San Antonio has been made accessible to the public and will be used as a centre to create awareness and educational facility; which is a prerequisite for the LEED. The facility also features wall plaques and story boards that highlight the design and construction process, and green initiatives of the buildings.
