Plans approved for Bridgefield site development
Plans for a brand new leisure and retail expansion costing £65 million ($104.33 million) on the Bridgefield site in Stockport town centre have been approved.
Outline permission has been granted for a top quality development together with a cinema, food and drink outlets, hotels, shops and a 250-space car park.
The scheme would be located on a narrow linear site fronting the arterial M60 motorway and the rear service yards of existing independent retail properties in Stockport.
The new plan is expected to revitalise the area by creating new leisure and employment opportunities. It will use vibrant design and maximise scale, volume and colour to offset the practical demands of the existing town centre and limitations of the site.
