Plankton launches Lock dinner table
Netherlands-based sustainable furniture designer and manufacturer Plankton has launched a new dinner table named as Lock, which is designed to provide a beautiful dining experience.
Made of bamboo, the new Lock dinner table is designed by J P Meulendijks by combining all the characteristics of bamboo.
Featuring all the sustainable features of bamboo, the frame of the Lock dinner table is built up from layers of flexible bamboo. The layers are pressed together and the shape is formed by the bamboo's natural bending curve. The layers of bamboo curve through each other and entwine, locking each other in place.
Exhibiting a strong masculine dynamic shape, the dinner table is available in two versions like Bamboo top and Glass top. The Bamboo top is made out of 40 milimetre thick solid bamboo that is cut into a layer-pattern that forms the round edges. The 12 milimetre thick cradle-to-cradle certified glass top is mounted to the frame, which makes the beauty of the frame extra visible.
With dimensions of 1400 mm. Diameter, 742 mm. height (glass-top) and 770 mm. height (bamboo-top), the big round democratic table can seat five to six people.
