Paul Nulty nominated for Lux Awards 2012
British lighting specialist Paul Nulty has been nominated for Lux Awards 2012 for the lighting of the refurbished Nike’s Manchester United Stadium Store in the UK.
Paul Nulty has been nominated under the Retail and Leisure Project of the Year category. The light concept employed by Paul Nulty in the store was based on an increased contrast ratio of around 12:1 between merchandise and circulation. The main floor of the store has simple track and spot luminaires, whist other areas utilise recycled and relocated luminaires.
The new store’s per square feet power consumption on lighting is 15W, which in addition to being more energy-efficient, is also almost 50% more brighter than the lighting it has replaced. The company has also recycled 25% of the luminaires within the space, which has made the store both environmentally-friendly and cost-effective.
The Lux Awards ceremony will take place on 6 November 2012 at The Natural History Museum in London.
