NWNA secures Award of Honor from Connecticut Green Building Council


Nestle Waters North America (NWNA), a US-based beverage company, has secured an Award of Honor from the Connecticut Green Building Council for its headquarters in Stamford.


The Stamford headquarters is a LEED Gold-certified office building. The Connecticut Green Building Council evaluated the building on various parameters, which consisted of water conservation strategies, energy usage, site design, indoor air quality and overall building aesthetics.

The building embraced several sustainable principles, which includes a white roof, which trims back the building's heating and air conditioning requirements. The bathrooms of the building feature low-flow water fixtures.

The headquarters also incorporates low energy/high efficiency lighting system. Recycling system has been installed at several locations such as kitchens and coffee bars.

The building also has preferred parking spaces for low-emission vehicles. Additionally, sustainability goal was met by the use of post-consumer recyclable materials such as furniture, fabrics, countertops, carpet and ceiling tiles.
