New Women’s Centre at Via Christi Hospital to open soon
Work is set to complete soon on a $8.2 million makeover for creation of the new Women’s Centre at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas, US.
The project, which commenced in 2011 end, will involve transformation of the facility's third storey into an advanced labour and delivery centre. The revamped floor will incorporate a contemporary style. The women’s services department will increase by about thrice its existing size as part of the project.
The expansion will include increasing the number of labour rooms from three to five and the number of postpartum rooms from eight to 13. There will also be creation of a pair of triage rooms. Further, the facility will feature additional bassinets in the nursery, as well as an isolation nursery for kids with infectious diseases. The centre will also be equipped with advanced technology such as central fetal monitoring for the babies and mothers, and an upgraded infant security system.
The new Women’s Centre is due to open in 15 April 2012.
