New student housing of Heriot-Watt University topped out
The new £12 million ($19.13 million) residences development at Heriot-Watt University's Scottish Borders Campus in the UK has been topped out.
The new building, named SBC residences, will consist of a total of 218 beds. The property will house single rooms. All the rooms will offer en-suite provision while featuring kitchens, lounges, as well as ancillary facilities. A few rooms of the facility will be arranged as five bedroom cluster flats. Work is due to be over by July 2012.
The project forms part of a £26 million ($41.46 million) University residences development which includes construction of new residences at the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh Campuses of the University. The new buildings will substitute the outdated residences built in the early 1970s.
