New Lobby Heralds £6m make-over of Hilton London Metropole Hotel
Aukett Fitzroy Robinson’s newly designed lobby for the Hilton London Metropole – part of the first phase of a £6m refurbishment –has been unveiled.
The architecture and interior design practice - a specialist in hotel upgrades and refurbishments - has designed the new lobby and reception area, the EDG lounge and bar, an intimate 22-cover whisky bar, and a transformation of meeting rooms on the West End hotel's mezzanine floor.
The refurbished lobby features ultramodern touches, including individual pod check-in desks. The double-height EDG Bar and Lounge (pictured) features British bespoke vanilla fabric suspended lights amid a decor of muted grey fabrics and splashes of yellow.
The Whisky Lounge features black and mauve-grey furnishings, with hints of dark cyan and teal, and suspended whisky decanters provide a quirky lighting feature.
Other UK hotel renovation and refurbishment work by Aukett Fitzroy Robinson includes the Hilton Cardiff, the Sanderson and St Martins Lane Hotel.
